Sokoto Democratic Youth Forum leaders addressing press conference on El-Rufai's recent political statements

In a bold display of political solidarity, the Sokoto Democratic Youth Forum (SDYF) has launched a fierce critique against former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai's recent political maneuvers targeting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Youth Forum Exposes Political Theatrics

The group's chairman, Mohammed Tambuwal, delivered a scathing rebuke of El-Rufai's divisive rhetoric during his recent Sokoto visit. The statement highlighted El-Rufai's controversial history, including his disrespectful comments about the revered Sardauna of Sokoto and his actions against respected Islamic scholar Sheikh Bello Yabo.

"We have not forgotten how El-Rufai insulted the memory of the revered Sardauna nor how he ordered the arrest of Sheikh Bello Yabo -- a respected Islamic scholar in Sokoto. His recent visit to Sokoto is nothing but a calculated provocation," the statement emphasized.

Strategic Political Realignment

The SDYF exposed El-Rufai's alleged alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a desperate attempt to undermine President Tinubu's administration and position himself for the 2027 elections. The group emphasized that such political theatrics would not diminish the North's support for the current administration.

Progressive Development Agenda

Contrary to El-Rufai's criticism, the Forum highlighted Tinubu's comprehensive development initiatives, particularly in infrastructure and economic stabilization. The youth group emphasized the administration's commitment to:

  • Economic stabilization measures
  • Enhanced national security
  • Agricultural productivity boost
  • Infrastructure development

Call for Unity and Vigilance

The Forum concluded with a powerful call for Northern youth to remain vigilant against political manipulation, reaffirming their commitment to national unity and democratic stability under President Tinubu's leadership.
