Osun State is drawing a line in the sand. The Adeleke administration has made it crystal clear: no one, no matter who they are, will be protected if they are linked to the wave of violent crimes shaking the state. Samuel Ojo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, dropped this bombshell on Wednesday, directly refuting claims that the government is coddling the masterminds behind the murder of Olalekan Oyeyemi.
Oyeyemi's death has ignited a firestorm, with a leadership tussle inside the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) taking a deadly turn. Two union leaders, Gbedegesin and Kareem Akeem, have gone viral with allegations that Oyeyemi was the governor's anointed pick for the state chairmanship, a move that supposedly angered rivals who then silenced him permanently. But the government is pushing back hard, insisting the narrative is false and that justice will be served.

“The meeting focused on the killings that must be stopped immediately, and the Service Commanders assured the State Governor... that there won't be any further loss of life and that the peaceful atmosphere that we have been enjoying in the state before the election will return,” Ojo stated.

Ojo shot down the shielding allegations with the force of a thunderclap. He stressed that Governor Adeleke has ordered a full, no-holds-barred investigation, tasking the police and DSS to fish out every single person responsible for the bloodshed.
“The state government is not shielding anyone. The governor had already said that no one should be spared in the investigation, and that the police and the DSS should investigate the case thoroughly and fish out the killers of those people. The law must take its course against them,” Ojo said emphatically.
