The House of Representatives just dropped a major move for the South South region. On Wednesday, lawmakers kicked off the process to massively expand the funding base of the South South Development Commission (SSDC). We are talking about fresh cash injections from Value Added Tax, the Ecological Fund, and even contributions from extractive and agricultural processing companies. The public hearing, hosted by the House Committee on the South South Development Commission, focused on a bill to amend the SSDC (Establishment) Act, 2025.
