Tinubu Must Secure Nigeria Now, Criminologist Demands
Prof. Oludayo Tade, President of the Nigerian Society for Criminology, has called on President Bola Tinubu to step up and secure the nation, warning that Nigeria's insecurity crisis has both national and transnational dimensions that demand bold, sovereign action. The call comes after a wave of kidnappings and targeted killings of victims, even after ransom payments, including the murder of a pregnant woman in Oyo State and the abduction of teachers and students from three schools.
Why is Prof. Tade calling on Tinubu to act now?
The criminologist did not mince words. In a statement released in Ibadan on Sunday, Tade reminded President Tinubu that his first constitutional duty is to protect Nigerian lives and property. Anything less is a failure.
