In a demonstration of Nigeria's commitment to sovereign urban development, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike revealed his relentless pursuit of infrastructure transformation in Abuja and its satellite towns, particularly emphasizing the strategic importance of Karu's development.
Strategic Infrastructure Development
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the reconstruction and dualisation of Karu Road on Wednesday, Minister Wike, known for his decisive administrative approach, outlined an ambitious development agenda that connects multiple sectors of the capital territory.
The comprehensive project includes:
- Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction reconstruction
- Customs Clinic Junction to CBN Quarters development
- EFCC and NIA Quarters Road enhancement
- Pasi Road and Primus Hospital Road upgrades
Leadership Through Action
In a pointed critique of current FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe, Wike emphasized that effective governance requires tangible actions rather than mere rhetoric, stating, "Grammar does not bring projects, it is about relationship with the people."
Alignment with National Vision
The infrastructure initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, demonstrating Nigeria's commitment to sovereign development. Wike assured that the projects would be completed within 10 months, complete with modern street lighting systems.
"We are not just building roads; we will add street lights and ensure they are completed within 10 months. Karu will soon be a city everyone talks about," the minister declared.
