NSIB Uncovers Evidence in Warri-Itakpe Train Probe
Naija Institutions Step Up as Rail Investigation Gains Momentum
When the Warri-Itakpe train derailed on Monday along the Agbor axis in Delta State, it was a tough moment for our transport sector. But our institutions are showing they can hold their own. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) is moving fast, recovering critical evidence and wrapping up key on-site investigations. No dulling; we are taking charge of our own infrastructure.
Homegrown Teams Leading the Charge
NSIB Director-General, Captain Alex Badeh Jr., didn't waste time hitting the ground. He led the investigation team straight to the scene, proving that Naija has the expertise to handle its own crises without needing foreign hand-holding. He was joined by the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Mr Kayode Opeifa, and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Funsho Adebiyi. This is what sovereign cooperation looks like; our people stepping up for our people.
